Support from a Star

Our heartfelt thanks go to Daniel O’Donnell for providing a charity concert in support of Inverness Hospital Radio and Cash For Kids, and he was happy to pose with IHR Committee members to display our new banner!

Whilst the concert had been arranged 2 years ago, Covid got in the way but it eventually happened on the 6th May 2022.

Daniel sang several hit songs, old favourites, some new songs, danced across the stage and told some very funny Jokes, all great entertainment. The audience were up dancing and Daniel was thoroughly enjoying himself. (He recognised people in the audience, read out requests, and did special mentions for people who could not make it, he told their family to turn on their phones and record a message. )

It was an amazing show, the fans enjoyed it, the two charities have benefitted, and it was a great achievement to see so many happy people leaving the Theatre. Daniel and his musicians and crew were delighted with everything, all went according to plan and it was well worth our efforts.

Cash for Kids will be able to help lots of children in our area and Inverness Hospital Radio will continue its excellent service broadcasting to patients in Raigmore Hospital, Care Homes, the Highlands and now all over the world!

A note of thanks to Michael the manager at the Crown Court Townhouse for providing excellent hospitality, Richie Paxton from the Mayflower lounge for providing rehearsal facilities and volunteers from both IHR and Cash For Kids who supported the event.

Daniel with his crew, Staff at the Crown Court Townhouse and special thanks to our own Helen Macpherson (Middle row, left) for all her work in organising the event.
