Highland Cross

On 17th June, Inverness Hospital Radio helped crowds cheer on participants of the Highland Cross 2023. The Duathlon consists of fifty miles, twenty miles walk or run and thirty cycling, from Kintail, through Glen Affric and Strathglass to Beauly. IHR was there at the finish line.

Karen Ross interviewed the winner of this year, Ross Gollan, with a time of three hours and thirty-one seconds “Its great to have all the support from all the marshalls and walkers and the locals on the route.”

We also had the opportunity to chat to the fastest female Catriona Graves. The Doctor from Beauly was fifteen minutes shy of the record “I’m pretty happy to be honest because I didn’t feel great initially on the run but I’ve got these guys right here on the bikes to thank.”

“If it wasn’t for them I would not have run I don’t think.”
